If you find yourself with a washing machine full of water that will not drain there are a few things you can check to fix the problem. First and most importantly, always remember to unplug your machine to avoid electrical shock.
After the power has been shut off follow these steps:
1- Check the drain hose to see if it is clogged or kinked.
2- Check the lid switch to see if it is working properly. You can check this by simply pressing and releasing it. If it doesn’t click each time it will need to be replaced.
3- Check the drain pump for foreign objects. If you find none restart your machine to see if the pump is working. If not this will need to be replaced.
4- Check the inlet valve for proper shut off.
5- Check the pressure switch to make sure it’s working. If you are having trouble finding the source of the problem then you may want to consider calling a certified service technician.
